(Transcript) "
Post-flood syndrome can reduce yields—especially corn yields—for next year. Flooding kills beneficial soil microbes that help plants take up essential nutrients that help them to grow. Flooded, barren areas will have a yield drag until these microbes are reestablished. Cover crops can reestablish the microbes. Farmers should consider planting cover crops now to improve yields next year. Your local NRCS office has the details."
