Develop Conservation Plans in the WinterReporter:
USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service State Agronomist Barb Stewart urges farmers to take advantage of the freezing winter weather.
(Transcript) This is a great time of year to develop conservation plans and learn what cost share and low interest loans are available for your farming operation. By taking more time now, conservation plans can developed for the entire farming operation and offer producers better results. It also helps when signups for programs like EQIP, REAP and water quality programs are announced. Most of the paperwork is done so farmers are ready to participate. That keeps warm weather crop production interruptions to a minimum and it helps producers to maximize their conservation and as well as their production goals.
