Follow the lead of no-till farmers. Don’t till your garden. No-till works for farmers. It will also work in your backyard. Use a no-till gardening system to save your soil and greatly reduce weeds. Instead of tilling, no-till gardeners plant vegetable and flower seeds into layers of mulch. This mulch builds soil quality and offers gardeners beautiful and delicious results. Learn more. Using your computer, Google the phrase “no-till garden” or “no-till garden recipe.” Or simply call your local NRCS office.
