USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) urges farmers to check their fields for flood and rain related damage. Here’s NRCS state agronomist Barb Stewart:

(Transcript) The recent heavy rains have damaged thousands of conservation practices across Iowa and caused severe erosion in others. Terraces have overtopped, grassed waterways have eroded and buffers and filter strips have filled with sediment. NRCS encourages farmers to check their fields for damage. If problems are found, farmers should contact their local NRCS office for assistance and recommendations in helping to fix the damage.
