What is the BEST Team?

BEST stands for Bringing Excellence and Systems Together. BEST team members are individuals from NRCS and the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship (IDALS-DSC). Members come from all areas of the state and represent all disciplines. The team is responsible for:

• reviewing and providing feedback on quality assurance tools that are developed;
• acting as a sounding board for questions;
• identifying tools that are not effective or identifying additional tools that are needed;
• and for making recommendations pertaining to audit review results, linking to other programs, (e.g. training) and improving the QA efforts state-wide.

The Best Team is also available to help the State Conservationist's Principal Staff, Section Heads, and program coordinators develop process tools for the above functions.
